The Midwest Independent Film Festival is a monthly film event dedicated to showcasing emerging directors, powerful artistic visions and strong cinematic stories from the eight-state Midwest region. Every first Tuesday of the month at the Landmark Century Cinema in Chicago, IL, these exceptional films combine with an exciting social atmosphere and state-of-the-art screening venue to create one of the premier festivals in the Midwest. Doors open at 6 p.m., screenings start at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to submit your film, please visit http://www.midwestfilm.com or contact Director of Programming Mike McNamara at [email protected].
Steppenwolf Films's powerful short, "Kubuku Rides", and premiere screenings of "The 5:22", "My Lover's Moods", and "Aisle 7" lead an impressive Midwest Shorts Program as the first installment of the 2007 season. The lineup will also include Jason Sandri's surrealistic stop-motion animated short, "Cranium Theater", an Official Selection of the 2007 Slamdance Film Festival. All filmmakers will be in attendance to present their work and field questions from the audience
