McLEAN, Va., August 12, 2006 – Holy Transfiguration Melkite Greek-Catholic Church will host its 13th annual Middle Eastern Food Festival, September 2 and 3, on the church grounds -- 8501 Lewinsville Road, McLean, Virginia. The Festival will feature authentic Middle Eastern food, pastries, Lebanese beer and wine, live music and dancing, vendors, church tours, and activities for both children and adults.

Join in the fun from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., Saturday, September 2 and 12 noon – 6 p.m., Sunday, September 3. Smell the aromas from the outdoor grills, partake of Kibbee, Shish Kebab, Falafel, Tabbouleh, Hummus, and Stuffed Grape Leaves, or any number of other delicious menu choices, including a $12 Roast Lamb Dinner at 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening and another at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Then relax with a cup of coffee and mouth-watering pastry. Choose from Arabic favorites, such as Baklawa, Maamoul, Namoura, or Ghraybeh, or good old-fashioned American favorites, from cakes to cookies to brownies and fudge.

Once you’ve satisfied your appetite, join in the Debke dance (instructors will teach you how), watch the folk dancing, participate in the backgammon or chess tournament, or bid on a silent auction item.

Children, meanwhile, can enjoy the moon bounce, face painting and story tellers, as well as participate in some of the many games going on throughout the Festival: water balloon toss, bean bag toss, sack races, volleyball, and marble pool.

The Festival will be held rain or shine. Admission and parking are free. To learn more, call 703-734-9566 or visit www.holytransfiguration.org.
