Have you ever had a Calabrese from Sicily? This tasty red wine grape is often called Nero d'Avola, and is considered by some to be the most important red grape in Sicily. It is often vinified into dark, thick, flavorful reds reminiscent of Australian Shiraz. We'll taste this interesting Sicilian wine tonight, and compare it to an Australian Shiraz to see if we notice any similarities. In addition, we'll taste a delicious new Reserve Cab/Syrah blend and a new Chard, both from the new Tracy Hills AVA in Northern California (and 10% of the proceeds go to fight breast cancer!). To finish up this fun evening of wine exploration, we'll taste a Cab from Lodi and a big, huge, jammy Zinfandel from Paso Robles. From Sicily to Australia to Paso! It must be Wine O'Clock at Dudley's!
