8316 Oak St
New Orleans, Louisiana 70118

The Krewe of O.A.K. (outrageous and kinky) celebrated its twentieth anniversary this year. The Krewe parades biannually both during Carnival season as well as six months later at Mid-Summer Mardi Gras, a krewe of OAK original proclaimed by the city of New Orleans.

The summer parade is also different from the other large winter extravaganzas, since it begins on Oak Street in Uptown New Orleans, and runs along streets in the Carrollton area. The floats are mostly decorated golf carts, and a brass band joyfully leads the charge. The parade begins at the inimitable Maple Leaf Bar, at 8316 Oak Street, at 8:30 p.m.

This is still going on, but don't bother with the car wash costume. I think the poster of this event has backed out for another party.
