CUSBA – Canada-U.S. Business Association

Greetings from the re-energized CUSBA! A group of over 30 people from both sides of the border have come together to re-start the Canadian-U.S. Business Organization, and we are ready to include you in our efforts. Our new group has the same goal – to encourage dialogue across this important border among business, non-profit, and governmental groups – and a new approach designed to open up participation among all those interested in being part of our mission. I know you have supported CUSBA in the past, and I want you to be among the first to hear about our efforts.

First, we are formally enlisting members to join CUSBA. This will provide a more stable platform from which to grow, plus give us a sense of being an on-going community linked by a common interest. We will still make most of our events open to the general public, but members will get preferred pricing and access to other benefits that we believe will be worth your investment. Please visit our new web site at http://www.cusbaonline.com to view the details and learn about the membership process. The 2012-2013 Membership levels include: Individual $ 100.00, Non-Profit $ 300.00, Corporation $ 500.00 U.S. Funds.

I am also pleased to be able to announce our first 2012-2013 event – a Luncheon Town Hall Event with Michigan’s Governor, Rick Snyder.

This will be held from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm on Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Detroit Westin Book Cadillac. Governor Snyder will speak about the New International Trade Crossing and take questions from the audience about this important project that will benefit our region and, indeed, encourage trade across all of North America.

Tickets for the Event will be $50 for CUSBA Members, and $75 for Non-Members, and are now available through our web site or by using the following Direct Event Link www.detroitchamber.com/register/CUSBAL1012 . Registration is due no later than Monday October 15, 2012. Space is limited, so I encourage you get on board quickly and participate in what promises to be one of the most interesting events of the Fall.

I also encourage you to again be part of CUSBA and help strengthen business between our two great countries. Please let me know if you have any programming ideas, an interest in sponsorship opportunities, or if you otherwise want to help. In particular, our standing committees are just getting off the ground, and they would welcome your involvement. We look forward to working with you to develop a vibrant and active group that encourages our region’s success.

Sincerely,

Mark High
