Michelle Amador - Wayne Shorter My Heart January 15, 2006

Festival fans may recall the modern sounds of vocalist/composer Michelle Amador from her debut as Artistic Director and creator of the all-new Jazz Beyond stage where her performance received a standing ovation. At the Sunday Series, Amador will perform a special tribute concert of original lyrics she has written to select compositions of legendary saxophonist Wayne Shorter. "Wayne Shorter is one of my heroes. His compositions and melodies are unique and inspirational and have always touched my heart. I look forward to the honoring his music through song,," says Amador. Amador will be accompanied by jazz notables: Tim Bulkley (drums), John Wiitala (bass), Leonard Thompson (piano), and Matt Renzi (saxophone).
