MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA transforms the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, into a multisensory experience. This late-night party features high-energy live music and DJs with cocktails and dancing, in an event space designed by IKEA Houston.
Performing live are Houston’s own indie pop artists Wild Moccasins, winners of the Houston Press Music Award for Best EP (Microscopic Metronomes) in 2009; and Austin’s SXSW veteran ORTHY, specializing in celestial pop and adventurous music. Also appearing are resident DJ Ceeplus Bad Knives; DJ Josh Dupont; and DJ Mr. Castillo. Music for the Mixed Media events is curated by Reprogram Multimedia. Lighting, sound and staging are provided by PRO/SOUND. The official beer is Stella Artois.
Tickets go on sale August 6 at www.mfah.org/mixedmedia online; 713.639.7771 by phone; and in person at the MFAH during regular museum hours. Advance tickets are recommended. Purchase tickets by Thursday, August 23 to receive a discount. Additional discounts are available for MFAH members and IKEA Family members. Space is limited.
Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Guests must be age 18 or older. A cash bar will be available. Only ages 21 and older may consume alcoholic beverages.
The MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA series of late-night parties continues monthly on Friday nights with a finely tuned rotation of diverse musical performers. Don’t miss the events on September 21, October 26, November 16 and December 21.
