It’s back! Brought to you by the same people who created the Mixed Media Music Series at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA transforms the museum into a multisensory experience beginning Friday, July 27, 2012. This late-night party features cocktails and dancing with high-energy live music and DJs, in an event space designed by a team from IKEA Houston.

The first MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA party welcomes Soft Metals, a multidisciplinary electronic duo based in Los Angeles. Also performing July 27 are the resident DJ, Ceeplus Bad Knives; Bobby DJ (from //TENSE//); and Dave Wrangler. Music for the Mixed Media events is curated by Reprogram Multimedia.

Tickets are now on sale at www.mfah.org/mixedmedia online; 713.639.7771 by phone; and in person at the museum. Advance tickets are available at a discount until July 26. Additional discounts are available for MFAH members and IKEA Family members. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Guests must be age 18 or older. A cash bar will be available. Only ages 21 and older may consume alcoholic beverages.

MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA parties continue monthly on Friday nights with a finely tuned rotation of diverse musical performers. After the July 27 debut, upcoming events take place August 24, September 21, October 26, November 16 and December 21.

IKEA Houston is partnering with local designer Ali Rapp to create a limited-edition tote bag, exclusive to the MFAH. The first 100 guests in the door on July 27 will receive a complimentary tote bag to take home. Additional bags will be available for purchase through The MFAH Shop while supplies last.
