MFA Lecture Series: Amy Franceschini from Future Farmers
January 14, 2008 Starts: 7:30pm

Amy Franceschini works with notions of community, sustainable environments and a perceived conflict between humans and nature. Her work manifests "on" and "offline" in the form of dynamic websites, installations, open-access laboratories, and educational formats that collectively question or challenge the cultural, social and economic systems we live in. Her work is pervaded with images of growth-reminding us that both nature and our own creative natures are precious commodities that must be nurtured and sustained whether it is on the web or in our own backyards.

Her solo and collaborative work have been included in exhibitions internationally including ZKM, Whitney Museum, NYMOMA and SFMOMA. She is the recipient of the Artadia Award, Eureka Fellowship and SFMOMA SECA. She is a professor at the University of San Francisco and teaches graduate seminars at CCA.

Free admission. 5th Avenue Cinema, 510 SW Hall Street
