WHAT: Public tours of the Metropolitan Home Modern by Design Showhome. Metropolitan Home brings its signature Modern by Design Showhome experience to San Francisco, by distilling its interior design vision into the Modern by Design showhome, transforming a historic 7,700-square-foot home built in 1902 into an outstanding contemporary eco-friendly showcase.



Developed and executed by San Francisco based Regina Callan, Principal of RBR Development and architect Mark English, the GreenPoint Rated home uses recycled brick, solar panels and energy-efficient appliances, yet was designed to accommodate the lifestyle of a modern San Francisco family while still respecting the home’s historical and architectural significance.



The Metropolitan Home Modern by Design Showhome, brings together 14 of the country’s most sought-after designers and design studios to offer a unique interpretation of eco-friendly modern living and design. Designers include: Martha Angus, David Oldroyd & Greg Stewart of ODADA, Min|Day, Jiun Ho, Gary Hutton, Jay Jeffers, Dowling Kimm Studios, Nicole Hollis, Erin Martin, Steven Miller, Phillip Parton, Sand Studios and Surfacedesign.



WHY: Tour ticket proceeds benefit the San Francisco Ballet.



WHEN: Public tours begin June 20, 2009 and run for four weekends from 10a.m. to 4p.m., with the last tour beginning at 3p.m.
