Downtown Burbank has been selected as the official kick-off of Metrolink’s Holiday Toy Express and will be celebrating its dazzling debut on Saturday December 4 at 5:00 P.M.

With lights aglow and filling the night with toe tappin’ tunes, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive aboard the 450-ton train covered with giant glittering ornaments and more than 50,000 twinkling lights.

Now in its 14th year, there will be local school bands, elves, strolling entertainment, arts and crafts, and a slew of holiday fun and treats from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on the station platform at 201 N. Front Street. The event is free and open to the public.

As part of the Holiday Toy Express, Metrolink partners with member cities and counties to collect toys that are provided to kids in need through the Southern California Firefighter’s Spark of Love Toy Drive sponsored by ABC7. Attendees are asked to please bring new, unwrapped toys, books and sporting equipment, delivering joy to the hearts of local children. Don’t forget to have your picture taken with Lil’ Squirt and the heroes of Burbank Fire Department Engine and Truck 11!
