MESSA DI GLORIA Puccini and Pergolesi March 21, 2008

2008 is Giacomo Puccini’s 150th birthday and we’re celebrating with his most famous choral work, the ebullient and rarely heard Messa di Gloria. Performers are the Vancouver Chamber Choir, the Trinity Western University Choir and Chamber Choir, soloists and the CBC Radio Orchestra. The companion work is from an earlier era and also Italian - Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s famous Stabat Mater, a Baroque masterpiece.
