As rifles are left back in the trenches, the soldiers meet in No-Mans land to enjoy the spirit of Christmas and brotherhood for just one night. A film about the futility of war, shown through the plight of the soldiers who know that they are celebrating one night but will go back to killing one another the next. Merry Christmas brings home the true meaning of the spirit of Christmas while serving as a grim reminder of the human cost of war. Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2006 Academy Awards.
