Mermaid's Love Token June 13, 2012

This small stuffed whimsy is a nostalgic piece indeed, with designs formed from decorative pins, beads, and sequins. It's modeled on heart-shaped pincushions that were crafted for sweethearts back home by British soldiers who were convalescing or at rest behind the front lines during World War I. Ulla Milbrath has reinterpreted them as fabric clamshells decorated by a mermaid for her sweetheart (a merman, or perhaps a human?). She'll bring in pre-cut and sewn shapes for you to stuff and decorate.
