The July 2009 death of Merce Cunningham—one of the most important choreographers of our time—set into motion his comprehensive Living Legacy Plan, which included a final two-year international tour. Envisioned as a celebration of Cunningham's lifetime of artistic achievement, The Legacy Tour will showcase seminal works from the entirety of his career and will offer audiences a final opportunity to see Cunningham's choreography performed by the company he personally trained. Cunningham's radical approaches to space, time, and technology redefined contemporary dance. Over the course of his celebrated career, he forged a distinctive language of movement, illuminating the body's inherent drama and limitless capacity for change. This two-night engagement will feature a different program each evening.
