Take a break, bring the family and join the fun as Mendocino Art Center hosts its 9th Annual Open House and Open Studios Tour, Saturday, February 14, from noon to 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The self-guided tour provides visitors with the opportunity to get sneak peek previews of some of the approximately 150 creative workshop activities offered by the Mendocino Art Center this spring and summer. Well-known local instructors and artists in residence will answer questions and present fascinating on-going demonstrations in ceramics, blacksmithing, painting, weaving, digital arts and jewelry fabrication. Light refreshments will be served.

Mendocino Art Center's February gallery exhibits and gift shop will be open during the Studio Tour. The Main Gallery showing spotlights the creative all-media artwork of the Art Center's contributing members in the "Members' Juried Exhibit." Mother and daughter artists, Eva Connell and Natalie Tyler, present bronze sculpture in their Gallery Ten showing, "Progeny." David Silveira exhibits his watercolors in the Abramson Gallery and a collection of Mendocino Art Center artists in residence exhibit a diverse array of artwork in the Nichols Gallery. The gift shop features a vast selection of quality handcrafted inventory and consignment art from accomplished Northern California artists.

A free 2nd Saturday Artists Reception will also be held on Saturday, February 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Mendocino Art Center. This is your chance to hobnob with the exhibiting artists while nibbling snacks, sipping wine, and viewing the new gallery exhibits.
