The CSO performs well over one hundred concerts each year in Chicago and serves as its city's ambassador in frequent sold out tour performances across the country and internationally. CSO recordings have been awarded 58 Grammy(R) Awards, more than any other orchestra in the world. Savion Glover is a tour-de-force of unmatched tap dance virtuosity who is known for percussive complexity over visual flash. He produces earthshaking tap with the sounds of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, neo-soul, rock and funk. The word "improvography," which is now used by Glover to describe his energetic shows, was coined by Gregory Hines, whose death spurred Glover to revitalize his semi-dormant career.
