On Saturday, August 19, US Rep. Tim Ryan (D-17th) will Meet.The.Bloggers* at Cafe Momus in Akron.

Ryan was elected to Congress in 2002 when he beat former Rep. Tom Sawyer in the Democratic primary and Ann Wormer Benjamin in the general election. Since winning his seat, Ryan has been appointed to the committees for Armed Services, Veterans Affairs, and Education and the Workforce. Prior to Congress, Ryan was a state senator, serving as the ranking minority member of the Ways and Means committee.

In 2004, Ryan carried 77% of voters winning re-election.
