How has modern communications changed our lives? How has the technology evolved? How does it all work?

Well, come and meet the telecommunications engineers to find out! Our exhibition showcases how our ability to communicate has evolved from the use of semaphore flags to today's smartphones. Try sending messages using flags, learn Morse Code, see how the telephone has changed over the years, feel how heavy early mobile phones were and try programming retro home computers!

There are plenty of exhibits and demonstrations to interest the whole family. Organised by the University of Salford’s Professor Nigel Linge and featuring contributions from industry this exhibition allows you to meet and find out about the work of telecommunications engineers.

The event is being held as part of National Science and Engineering Week.
