Local author Nafisa Haji will read from and discuss her highly acclaimed debut novel, The Writing on My Forehead. The book follows Saira Qader, a Muslim American of Indo-Pakistani descent, who rejects the cultural traditions of her family to become a world roving journalist. Caught in a crossroad, what path will she choose? As Saira’s mother traced the words of protective prayers on her forehead, so too will this story leave its mark on the reader.
