New Haven, Connecticut 06510

Meet Lara Herscovitch, Connecticut's State Troubador, at The New Haven Public Library, 133 Elm St., on Tuesday, Apr. 21, from 6-7 pm. The public is invited to enjoy an evening with a unique singer-songwriter whose original music blends acoustic/folk, pop, Latin, jazz, and blues.
In addition to her work as a professional musician, Herscovitch is active in public policy and social work. She has worked in the U.S., Latin America and Asia on behalf of disadvantaged individuals, and her appreciation for cultural diversity and global issues is threaded into her music. According to Indie-Music.com, "Whether she's singing in English or Spanish, you can feel the emotion floating not only out of the singer but out of the characters she is describing."Lara's latest CD, Juror Number 13, is "among the best folk releases of the year and possibly many years past," says Fold & Acoustic Music Exchange.
