Weekes Branch Library is pleased to announce a free special event with CATHERINE RYAN HYDE, author of Pay It Forward and founder of the Pay It Forward Foundation.

Catherine Ryan Hyde is the acclaimed author of ten books. She will discuss her two latest titles CHASING WINDMILLS and THE DAY I KILLED JAMES. Chasing Windmills is a simple and captivating story of a chance encounter that proves life-changing for two lonely New York City subway riders: 17-year-old Sebastian Mundt and 22-year-old Maria Arquette, a young mother caught in an abusive marriage. The Day I Killed James is Hyde’s just-published young adult novel — a compelling tale of love, loss, and broken hearts — and how to begin to repair your own.

"We are very excited to have Ms. Hyde visit the library," stated Melesha Johnny, Weekes Library branch manager. "Pay It Forward was such a compelling book and movie. We look forward to hearing Ms. Hyde discuss her most recent works."

A selection of Ms. Ryan’s books will be available to purchase the evening of the event. All are invited to hear Ms. Ryan’s inspiring presentation.

This is a Big Box Program of the Bay Area Library and Information System, supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
