The South Bay's own Women's Flat Track Roller Derby League, the Silicon Valley Roller Girls (San Jose, CA), will be hosting May Day Massacre as their first ever double header. SVRG's Killa Bytes will be starting the night off taking on the Sacred City Disciples. Then the Dot.Kamikazes will follow up with a rematch against the San Francisco ShEvil Dead.
May Day Massacre, the second home bout of SVRG's second season, is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, 2009. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the first bout gets underway at 7 p.m. Come and show your support for your local derby girls by donning your green and black.
San Jose Skate on Blossom Hill will be the battlegrounds for this first ever double header that is sure to be a bout to remember. Tickets are currently on-sale online at Brown Paper Tickets: $15 for adults and $6 for kids; tickets at the door are $17 for adults and $8 for kids; babies in arms (two and under) are free.
The Silicon Valley Roller Girls will also be participating in the Walk Now for Autism event on May 31st. To ramp up for this special event they will be giving a portion of the proceeds from the bout to Autism Speaks.
As always, the bout will feature beer gardens (for 21 and over) and a snack bar, an entertaining, all-ages half-time show, raffle prizes and more.
SVRG is also still looking for advertisers and sponsors for the bout; please contact [email protected] if you are interested.
