Mavis Staples with Allen Toussaint October 16, 2011

Soul and gospel legend, and civil rights activist, Mavis Staples, who won a 2011 Grammy for her best-selling album, You Are Not Alone, opens the anticipated Chan Cente's 2011-12 season on October 16, 2011 at 7pm. The evening will commence with singer/songwriter, pianist, arranger, and producer Allen Toussaint, a hugely influential figure in New Orleans R&B.
