Having already put 10 studio albums under his belt, Matthew Sweet feels more elated about his most recent body of work, Sunshine Lies, than he ever has before. Having always created provocative and emotionally deep music, he describes the new record's sound as "power-pop-folk-rock-psychedelic-melodic-singer-songwriter-type stuff.” But regardless of the correct genre we should try to fit Sweet's creativity in, one word can describe the melodies and twists that ring true throughout his tunes: FUN!
