Bio: From bluerodeo.com: Matt Mays, formerly of The Guthries, has proven to be a success when going out on his own and forming Matt Mays & El Torpedo. His debut CD entitled Matt Mays was released in 2002 and was followed by his sophomore album Matt Mays & El Torpedo in March 2005. This country-rock band has received stellar reviews from old fans as well as new. Matt has been favourably compared to numerous musicians but his raspy vocals are most reminiscent of Neil Young. Matt?s parting of ways with The Guthries was amicable as he was given encouragement in starting his own solo career. Matt found band members who have as strong a stage presence as he does. Matt Mays & El Torpedo are Matt (guitars, vocals), Jarrett Murphy (guitar, vocals), Brad Conrad (organ, pedal steel, guitar), Tim Baker (drums) and Andy Patil (bass, vocals).
