Bristol's Massive Attack are pioneers of the trip-hop sound that worked it's way through in the late 80's and much of the 90s. Their hypnotic, sensual, cinematic fusion of hip-hop rhythms, dub grooves and samples paved the way for such artists as Portishead, Sneaker Pimps, Beth Orton and Tricky.
