In the spirit of the season for costumes and masks, San Francisco's Arc Gallery is hosting "Masquerade," a national juried art exhibition of sinister, macabre, and camouflaged works that create a virtual masquerade ball. Juror Jack Fischer, owner of Jack Fischer Gallery, selected 40 works where the "mask" represents the obfuscation of truth.

Works by artists Michelle Peckham, Michal Wisniowski, and Courtney Murphy were awarded the Juror's Choice Award for the most imaginative interpretation of the theme.

Also in the exhibition: Linda Abbott Trapp, Elaine Alibrandi, Julie Alland, Ciara Bedingfield, Michael Berkowitz, Mike Callaghan, Trevor Castor, Charles Christopher, Eric Conrad, Nicholas Coroneos, Judy Csotsits, Ed Finkas, Nicole Hayden, Irene Hendrick, Howie Katz, Andrew Kornblatt, John Martin, Saundra McPherson, Erika Meriaux, Rob Millard-Mendez, Jennifer Mondfrans, Pamela Mooney, Stephanie Moore, Chris Motley, Erin Mulligan, Lynn Patron, Stan Peterson, Claire Richey, Herbert Roe, Valerie Scott, Scott Shoemate, Maximiliano Sinani, Arthur Aladin Stadlin, Gregory Vernitsky, Sandra Wilcoxon, Yelena Zhavoronkova, and Elena Zolotnitsky.
