Poet Mary Oliver (born in Maple Heights, Ohio, in 1935) is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry and prose, including American Primitive (winner of a Pulitzer Prize) New and Selected Poems (a National Book Award winner) and House of Light (winner of the Christopher Award and the L. L. Winship/PEN New England Award). Her most recent poetry collection, Evidence, was released in April of 2009.

Each season the Cuyahoga County Public Library Foundation's William N. Skirball Writers Center Stage Series strives to present an outstanding and diverse representation of the contemporary literary world as it adds to the area’s great cultural offerings.
