Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter plays an intelligent blend of country, folk and pop music. Her newest album, 'Ashes and Roses,' reflects the difficulties and challenges she's recently had to face. Says Carpenter, "They say that the worst, the most traumatic things that people can go through in their lives are a divorce, the loss of a parent and catastrophic illness. All of those things have happened to me in the last few years."
