The arts faculty of Martinsville City Schools will display their talents to celebrate Life in the Arts. Members of the music faculty will perform a selection or two each and the visual arts teachers will share pieces of their own work.

The recital will include performances by Brian Joyce, percussion, William Norris, Saxophone, Kevin Lewis, trumpet, and vocalists John Heiss, Andromeda Miner, and Merilyn Bremner. Arts teachers in the city schools include, Clare Miller, Judy Davis, Randall Clay, Lindsey Lugrin, and Pam Vineyard.

Donations will be accepted to benefit the Piedmont Arts’ Nicodemus Hufford Scholarship that is awarded yearly to an area high school senior who intends to pursue a degree in music, art, theatre or dance. In the last twenty-two years, over $62,000 has been awarded to area students.
