The New York Chapter of the Recording Academy in association with The Riverside Church of New York proudly presents a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the groundbreaking and Grammy Award Winning speech, "Beyond Vietnam" originally delivered by the Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4, 1967 at the Riverside Church (Also known as, "Why I Oppose the Vietnam War"). The speech has recently been brought back in to the mainstream due mostly to its close parallel to what are nationcurrently faces with the perils of the War in Iraq.



The evening will feature musical tributes by grammy award winning artists, as well as soul stirring performances by spoken word artists from the hit HBO Original Series, Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry
