Martin Kippenberger was always a man of extremes, both in his private and professional life. The agitator, family man, self-made-man and provocateur feared boredom, and hated routines, but needed his rituals. He was obsessed with drugs, alcohol, fame and love and worked himself to death for his oeuvre. His longing for new projects and destinations was as strong as his need for family. He was an enfant terrible, whose childhood never seemed to end. His sister Susanne Kippenberger published Martin's biography in 2007.
