Marin Bee Co. and Whole Foods present Free Year-Long Beekeeping Series December 1, 2012

Marin Bee Company teams up with Whole Foods Market in Novato to present a FREE YEAR LONG, hands-on beekeeping series, "The Basics of Backyard Beekeeping". Next session is Saturday December 1st, on their beautiful patio garden at 11:00 am. Workshops will occur monthly over the next year as part of Whole Foods "Share the Buzz" campaign, which aims to heighten awareness about the struggling honeybee and Colony Collapse Disorder through community outreach.

Come prepared to suit up in a beekeeper's jacket and veil for a close up look at live bees or spin honey in colder weather. This program continues Whole Foods and Marin Bee Company's mission to create educational programs through environmental stewardship. Both are committed to demystifying beekeeping so that hobbyists can own and maintain their own beehives, while enjoying the tremendous satisfaction that comes from actively helping the environment and harvesting their own healthy raw honey.

Monthly happenings will include hands-on activities such as tending to the hive, spinning honey, planting a bee friendly garden, fun educational programs for children, cooking classes and recipes, film screenings and more! People off all ages are welcome.
