Wow! Surreal Marilyn!
As if Marilyn Monroe weren't surreal enough...
On Sunday, October fifth, The Living Theatre will present a free reading of Marilyn Monroe in the Desert, by Barbara Blatner. The Living Theatre continues to present audiences with bold stage forms. Marilyn Monroe in the Desert is a masterpiece of iconographic drama, with symbolism and expressionism forming a new stage style. Playwrights will be interested in Ms. Blatner’s bold voice – as will anyone tired of stage realism. Combining high symbolism with pop art, it’s as if Maurice Maeterlinck teamed up with Andy Warhol!
