This is a family comedy in which a father refuses to attend his daughter's nuptials for fear of encountering his ex-wife and his in-laws-to-be: a high-class Spanish family that has just fired him from his job. Will Hector attend the wedding? In the second act, after all hell has broken loose at the wedding, long-held secrets are revealed and in a family already scarred by social and cultural pressures, relationships change forever. 'Marido encadenado' is one of the winning plays in the 2004 Nuestras Voces national contest for new plays, sponsored by MetLife.
