Marian McPartland is a legend among pianists, celebrated for her contributions to the world of jazz, both as a musician and as the host of NPR's Piano Jazz. Upon hearing Marian at the piano, one quickly becomes aware of her impeccable technique and her uniquely salient harmonic sense (which may take the form of an ethereal ballad or a hard-swinging bop standard.)
