Guitarist Maria Zemantauski is one of the most fascinating performing artists to emerge from New York?s Capital Region. Her life-long love affair with the guitar has taken her through many styles of music, but most significantly to the world of classical and flamenco. While she believes that the expressive possibilities of the guitar are limitless, she feels that the indigenous voice of her instrument is found within the flamenco art form. She has claimed this genre of music as her own with passion, confidence and grace. Maria?s performance at the C+CC will feature her band ALEGRIA, with Sten Isachsen on guitar, Monica Wilson-Roach on cello and Mote Matson on percussion, while singer-songwriter Bryan Thomas will open the evening with a set of sweet and soulful pop played as only he can play it. $10 general admission, free with RPI Student ID.
