West Strand and Broadway
Kingston, New York 12401

On Saturday February 21, the Rondout Business Association’s 3rd annual Kingston Mardi Gras festival will return with its annual ice sculpture contest. This year’s competition plans to have close to fifty
entrants along the waterfront. Using blow torches, chain saws and carving tools of all shapes and sizes, various artists and culinary chefs will create art from the 300-pound blocks of ice. Each artist will have a maximum of five hours to complete their piece which will then be judged by a panel of art experts at 3:30 pm.

The various sculptures will be located along West Strand and Rondout Landing, creating a winter promenade. Art lovers, families and friends are invited to come down and cheer on each contestant.

Artists interested in participating in the competition are invited to call for details.
