The 15-piece MSJO presents an evening of music spanning a range of styles and over a hundred years. Pipa player/vocalist Min Xiao-Fen has a wide-ranging international influence as a leader in her art. She has received high acclaim for her classical, new music and Jazz performances and is a featured soloist with the New York City Opera and the Brooklyn Philharmonic. Jon Jang's musical language is based on the re-contextualizing of Chinese folk songs within a contemporary music context, a metaphor of the changing face of Chinese America.
