In this exhibition combining photo and text, this show focuses on the city of Tijuana, founded in 1889 and existing as a ranch before evolving into a city. Photographs of the city provide a gritty, naturalistic visual portrayal -- images that are not what the city would have selected as official postcards. The artist approached about 35 individuals and asked them to select one of his postcards and write an accompanying text. Through these images and text, the artist has captured not only a visual image of the city but a portrait of the people there who live, work and visit, as well.
