Marcel Dargis at Naïvism: Celebrating the Human Narrative July 8, 2008

GINA Gallery’s current exhibition displays nearly 90 original paintings by a cross-section of the gallery’s international artists, including artwork from Canadian native Marcel Dargis. Born in Cap de Madeline, Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada in 1928, Marcel began painting at age seven. His solo exhibitions have been showcased throughout Canada and he has participated in group exhibition in many countries such as Canada, Switzerland and Israel. He has been the recipient of the following awards: 1960 First prize Fonctionnaires provinciaux de Quebec, 1969 Second prize Salon de Arts Exposition and 1993 Second prize International Naïve Art competition.
