The Marc Black Band Returns to the Towne Crier Cafe, Sat., April 10.
Having just completed a month of touring in Texas and Florida, Marc Black will return to the Towne Crier with his band on Saturday, April 10 at 8 pm.
His band will feature drummer Eric Parker from the Joe Cocker and Stevie Winwood Bands; bassist Michael Esposito from the Blues Magoos. And two internationally acclaimed soloists…Betty MacDonald on electric violin and Don Davis on horns of all description.
The past year, has been a busy on for Marc. Some highlights include being named ABC Radio's Folk Artist of the Year for 2009; winning at last summer's Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, Texas; and being invited to perform at Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble.
While Black is generally considered a soulful folk rock performer, the New York Times wrote, "Black produces soulful, catchy music that mixes jazz, Tibetan chants and the percussive music of North Africa, Brazil and downtown New York."
In case you've never seen this band before, you can expect dancing to erupt spontaneously! If you're in the mood for spring, this is a show you don't want to miss.
