One of the oldest forms of nonverbal communication, maps have been drawn since prehistoric times as a means of wayfinding and charting one's place in the world. Today, with the advent of GPS and Google Maps, they have infiltrated our daily life more than ever before. In an era of global culture, artists are increasingly exploring maps as both image and cipher. This exhibition takes a look at current map-based works that represent actual locations -- real and imagined.
