Check out this free event featuring projects worked on by high school students in a constructivist learner centered environment. Projects on display will range from design, architecture, the environment, boat building, dance performances and a poetry slam and an attendee will be able to learn more about the process and results of constructivist learning by seeing students work within a learner centered environment. An attendee can also experience the differences and similarities between constructivist and traditional learning. These learning environments are all focused on being experiential, equitable and ecological.

The event will be held on May 21st, 2009 from 2-7pm at the Milwaukee Public Museum, 800 W Wells Street, Milwaukee and is called the “Many Faces of Constructivism.”

Schools that will be participating on May 21st are: Audubon Technology & Communication Center High School, Community High School, Foster & Williams High School of the Visual Arts and Communication, Inland Seas School of Expeditionary Learning, Montessori High School an IB World School, Milwaukee Learning Laboratory & Institute, Professional Learning Institute and School for Urban Planning and Architecture.

Spreenkler, LLC on behalf of the Great Lakes Constructivist Consortium is generating buzz and community awareness leading up to the May 21st event. They are managing a social media campaign in addition to a grassroots marketing campaign in order to accomplish this.
