MANNA’s PIE IN THE SKY 2009: 13 DELICIOUS YEARS OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT October 22, 2009

MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance) announces Pie in the Sky 2009, the organization’s 13th annual holiday pie sale fundraiser, sponsored by US Airways. From October 1 until November 20, a selection of five gourmet pie flavors will be on sale for $25 - $35 each, with all proceeds to benefit the mission of MANNA: preparing and delivering nourishment to people at acute nutritional risk from life-threatening illnesses. For each pie sold through Pie in the Sky, a MANNA client in the Delaware Valley coping with a life-threatening illness will be delivered six nutritious meals. With a goal to sell 13,000 pies to raise over $350,000, this event is MANNA’s largest fundraiser of the year.

The 2009 Pie in the Sky flavors include: Apple Crumb, Pumpkin, Southern Pecan, Sweet Potato, and the US Airways SkyPie. MANNA’s pies make delicious desserts to serve along with your Thanksgiving dinner. And because all proceeds benefit MANNA, a pie from MANNA will fill your stomach and your heart! The deadline for all orders is NOON on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2009.
