Featuring Hijack the Disco, with a special acoustic set.

Saturday April 9, 8-11pm

Hosted by Peter Lim

About the feature:
In September 2003, Hijack The Disco leapt onto the San Francisco Bay Area music scene seeking dark spaces and friendly faces. With angular rhythms, energetic melodies, and dueling vocals, Hijack has a stranglehold on an unconventional, largely unexplored yet surprisingly accessible piece of Americana.

Michael Mahony plays bass and keys like a guitar player, Dave Tsui plays guitar like a drummer, and Trevor Wencl plays drums like a bass player. To top that off Michael and Dave sing together fluidly (like the wind generated by the hands of an affluent ASL instructor) and Trevor whistles while he works.

Since inception to the Bay Area, Hijack The Disco has toured to (and been banned from) the country of Canada, been garnished by positive press, done releases on DVD and CD compilations, lent songs to a documentary film, and released both a 5 song EP called "Working Is Easy" and a split 7" single on their own home-run label, The Restless Press.

Call it neo prog emotive indie math rock or call it fiddle faddle. Either way there is no denying that Hijack The Disco are doing something that few have attempted. Like Michael J. Fox says in Back To The Future: "You probably aren't ready for this, but your kids are gonna love it"--Hijack The Disco's live show will leave these words ringing in your ears.
