Although the IPO market may be showing some signs of life, it will be some time before it is robust again. Until such time, M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) will be the predominant exit vehicle for start-ups and small companies, and even afterwards will remain a strong contender for start-ups' exits.

Despite how prevalent it is in the current economy, M&A remains a black box for the vast majority of entrepreneurs and small business managers. Most know that it is likely coming but figure they will wait to jump off that bridge until they get to it. This session will dispel some myths about M&A, and provide three perspectives on it; from an advisor, a lawyer and an accountant all specializing in mergers and acquisitions in a panel discussion that will engage the audience. Learn the common practices, the pitfalls the most common misconceptions and the most common mistakes. Learn what to look for and what to look out for.

Who should attend: This session is designed for start-up companies considering their exit strategies. Consequently it is intended for top-level executives, company CEOs and presidents as well as CFOs and others involved in formulating exit strategies. It is also for managers of acquiring companies who want to learn more the pitfalls and issues they may not be aware of. People with a general interest in the health and operation of mergers and acquisitions should also find the session interesting.

Free for eBig Members, $15-20 for Guests.
