Good evening everybody and welcome to tonight's coverage of a match that won't be featuring anywhere near the top of either club's list of priorities for this season, but which will hopefully be worth watching nonetheless. Considering the weather, the game being televised and the cheapest tickets available to adult home fans that aren't OAPs cost £30 (visiting adult Geordies have had to fork out £45!), we're unlikely to have anything resembling a full house at Old Trafford tonight, but we might get to see some bright new prospects line up for both sides. More seasoned lags such as Darren Fletcher and Wayne Rooney should also feature. The former continues his return from debilitating illness, while the latter is expected to return from a debilitating bloody great hole in the leg

Angelo Henriquez, Nick Powell, Alex Buttner and Michael Keane are among the whelps who are expected to either start or come on as substitutes for Manchester United at some point tonight. Midfielder Powell and left-back Buttner have already featured in the Premier League against Wigan this season, with both players scoring and the Dutch defender picking up the man of the match fizz.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has signalled his intention to select a pretty experienced side this evening, with midfielder Cheikh Tiote and centre-half Fabricio Coloccini likely to return from injury. ""Obviously, as a manager, you are going to protect players for competitions you think are more important to grow as a club and we are trying to grow here," said Pardew ahead of tonight's match, adding: "I know one thing, the team I put out will have to be able to win.
