We would like to invite you and your family and friends to Manchester Rathayatra being held on Sunday 20th of September. It starts at Manchester Cathedral Gardens at 1 pm (Manchester Cathedral Gardens is behind Printworks). After the Rathayatra from 3 pm to 5 pm in Cathedral Gardens there are Dramas, Music and other activities.

Rathayatra is celebrated by devotees of Lord Krishna all over the world after being introduced to the west in 1967 in San Franscisco by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. There are hundreds Rathayatra festivals now celebrated every year in major cities of the world.

Rathayatra is blissful street festival - it features huge, wooden chariot(s) pulled by hand accompanied by:
* singing
* chanting
* drums
* cymbals
* and dancing

The procession ends with a stage show, festival and delicious vegetarian prasadam feast.
